The Latest: Blaze’s financial damage yet to be determined

California officials say a wildfire burning in Lake County caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage but a final figure is still being determined.

Mark Ghilarducci, director of the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, says the fire destroyed 1,900 structures, including 1,238 homes.

The blaze has charred 118 square miles and was 80 percent contained Wednesday.
